Lisa M Caruso

Luba Caruso, born in Boston, Massachusetts, is a graduate of Villanova University and attended The Parsons School of Design. She received a package design award from Parsons and has had many works featured in the Parsons Gallery.  A successful Package and Design Artist with 15 years experience, Luba’s label designs are featured in famous marketplaces around the country such as Whole Foods, Trader Joes, BevMo, World Market, Sams Club, Costco, Blusushi, Iron Chef Michael Symon Restaurant “Lola”, PapaVino and Vino Volo.

Living on the peninsula surrounded by the Navesink and Shrewsbury Rivers and the Atlantic Ocean, Luba is never far from the beauty of the shore, the beaches of Sea Bright and Spring Lake. The inspiration of these places are evident in her work, expressive in her compositions of daily life along the shore. As a young child, Luba spent summers on Cape Cod where she draws inspiration from as well seen in several of her pieces of seascapes and beach scenes.  Her oil paintings capture the beauty of these places as well as capturing her time spent living in Rumson and Fair Haven, New Jersey.

In April 2017, Luba had her first solo show at Beauregards Fine Art Gallery in Rumson, New Jersey.  The exhibit titled “Coastal Reflections”, focused on the beauty of the surrounding water and seascapes of Rumson, Fair Haven, the Navesink and Shrewsbury Rivers and Sea Bright Beach.

Spring of 2017, Luba’s Coastal Reflection works and her Flower series will be on exhibit at Gallery 222 in Malvern, Pennsylvania for the month of May. Gallery 222 is located in the heart of Malvern on King street off the mainline not far from where she attended Villanova University.

Most recently, Luba began her Water Tower series.  These are inspirations from the NYC cityscapes of Soho and Tribeca neighborhoods.  Having lived in NYC for 7 years, these neighborhoods have always been her favorite, dominated by great architecture, cobblestones and rising above: sculptures of water towers bursting through clouds and sunshine as permanent reminders of old NYC.

In 2016, The Agora Gallery in Chelsea, New York City, took notice of Luba’s atmospheric cloud series of works, that express fluidity and peace.  This series of atmospheric cloud paintings were part of the “Dynamic Visions” Exhibition July 8-25, 2016.  Chelsea NYC is most known for its amazing Art Galleries, Museums and the Highline.

The Ocean Series, paintings in acrylic, evolved from her time spent at the Jersey Shore and Malibu, Point Dune, California.  They are exercises in brush stroke, color, composition and moving subject. Luba juxtaposes the strength and power of the pacific with the landscape and beauty of the Atlantic.  The abstract composition is gathered by her love of the Sea Bright beaches.  The strength of its tide reminds her of the surf at Point Dune.
